Product Description

This Ghee is made from the milk of free range organic pastured cows raised in hilly parts of Nepal. This ghee is clarified using traditional method of ayurveda and is free from lactose and casein. Grass fed ghee has a distinct yellow color and pleasant aroma. No salt, sugar or preservatives added. Ghee is solid and shelf stable below 26oC but during summer it is recommended to refrigerate if not kept in air tight container.


Ghee is the most revered fat mentioned in ayurveda scriptures. Grass fed ghee has a unique nutrition profile without any lactose or casein, but rich in short-chain and medium-chain fatty acids. Ghee made out of ruminants (cows, sheeps, goats) grazing on organic grass provides an excellent source of fat-soluble vitamins including vitamin A (ratinol), E and K2. These vitamins are stored primarily in the fat portion, so the concentration of vitamins in ghee is higher than that in milk. Vitamin A plays an essential role in hormone balance, liver health, fertility, and stamina. Vitamins E and K plays a key role in maintaining healthy skin and hair. Grass fed ghee, unlike conventional ghee, has higher concentration of healthy fatty acids such as conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), butyric acid (BA), omega 3, and omega 9. CLA and BA are anti-inflammatory fatty acids that promotes anti-aging. Unlike polyunsaturated vegetable oils such as sunflower, soy, mustard, etc., Ghee is highly recommended for cooking as it has higher smoke point and does not go rancid at higher temperature.
